Dr. Karen Comer and "Sonic"

 

Dr. Karen Comer earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California at Davis.  Prior to entering veterinary school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry.  After graduation from veterinary school she continued her formal post-graduate studies with a clinical internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and a clinical residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Georgia.  Concomitant with the internal medicine residency, she also completed a Master of Science degree in physiology.  

Dr Comer is a member of the
American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and is board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine
.

She also is a member of: 

 

Dr. Comer's clinical interests include oncology (cancer medicine), gastroenterology (diseases of the stomach and intestines), and nutrition. 

Dr. Comer's furry family includes a whippet named "Cricket", a Norwegian Elkhound named "Sonic", and two cats named "Mr. Stubbs" and "Magik".

 

 

Trisa Hansen

 

Trisa Hansen obtained her Veterinary Technician license in 2003.  She enjoys many aspects of veterinary science, but has a special interest in reproduction.  When not working, she can be found at a variety of dog shows with her dogs.  She is a dog 4-H project leader, certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator and is in training to be an AKC Junior Handler Judge.

 

She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as with her dogs. Her furry family includes “Brandi” and “Fable”, her Leonbergers; “Atticus” and “Bliss”, her Border Terriers; and her cats "Jade" and "Scout".

 

Maura Mears

 

Maura enjoys her job as the receptionist. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids as well as their pets. Her furry family includes "Xena", her Shepherd-mix and "Zeus", her Lab-mix and her cats, "Cleo" and "Ashes". When not working she enjoys going camping, spending time in the kitchen and is always willing to try new foods!

 

Lyndsey Smith, LVT

 

Lyndsey graduated from the Pierce College Veterinary Technology program in June of 2011. She is interested in wildlife medicine and is a volunteer at the PAWS Wildlife Center in Lynnwood. She enjoys hiking and backpacking and has recently found interest in rock climbing. She enjoys cooking and baking and is always willing to try new recipes!

 

She enjoys spending time with her husband and their furry children. Their family includes "Geneva" and "Abbie", their Beagle-mix rescues, "Azul", their chihuahua and their three cats "Peanut Butter", "Nova" and "Dunkin". 

 

 

 Zoe Stoy

 

Zoe is our veterinary assistant. She is currently going to Tacoma Community College for her Associates of Arts and Sciences degree. She also works at a local movie theatre. 

 

Zoe is also a part of 4-H. She showed dogs in 4-H for 10 years. As well as showing, she was involved in community service through 4-H. Zoe's furry family consists of her Silky Terrier Koko, and Max and Pixie who are mother and son Yorkshire Terriers.
