If you are a veterinarian looking to refer a patient, please explore our site. You will find information about our staff, facility and the services we provide. If you are looking for a specific service and you don't see it here, please call the office. Our staff is happy to help in any way we can. How Our Office Works Patients are seen Monday through Thursday. In an effort to accommodate the needs of our clients, we have begun alternating our appointment and procedure schedule. We will see appointments for half the day and procedures will be performed the other half. Please contact the office to make an appointment. All patients sent to our office are first scheduled for an Initial Exam and Consultation. We ask that prior to the appointment, the referring hospital fax over all medical history and the results of all diagnostic workup. Please attach a Referral Request Form to your fax. This will help direct your records to Dr. Comer's staff. Our fax number is 253-475-5926. You may also send radiographs via e-mail to technicians@vmrctacoma.com or send them with the Phoenix, Idexx or Antech lab couriers. Dr. Comer will review these records, examine the pet, and discuss treatment recommendations with the owner. Future procedures will be scheduled at this time based upon the client's wishes. We have created several methods to keep you informed of your patient's status. An initial fax will be sent to you when the pet has been seen informing you of what diagnostics or procedures were performed. When test results have come in, Dr. Comer will write you a referral letter indicating the diagnosis and/or treatment plan. Please be aware, test results may take 3-5 business days. It may take up to 2 weeks for you to receive a referral letter, depending upon the schedule of procedures and the turn around time for certain tests. We will also notify you when recheck appointments and chemotherapy treatments have taken place. A fax will be sent updating you on these appointments and any changes in current therapy. Lab results will be forwarded after Dr. Comer has discussed them with the client. If you would like to schedule a telephone consultation with Dr. Comer, please contact the office for an appointment. Please use the same Referral Request Form attached to the records and fax them to our office. Your clinic will be billed after the consultation has taken place. At any time, if you need more information, please do not hesitate to contact the office at 253-475-5301. |
