Performing an endoscopy allows us access to certain parts of the body that would otherwise require surgery. The endoscope allows us to take biopsies of abnormal tissue and tumors to reach a diagnosis with minimal pain to the animal. It also allows us to retrieve objects swallowed or inhaled without the need for surgery. This greatly reduces the recovery time for the pet. This procedure does require a general anesthetic. Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) have state of the art monitoring equipment to monitor the pet during anesthesia.
