"Angie" Ross

No DescriptionIn September 2002 our almost three year old beautiful female Boxer - Angie - had two growths removed and they were diagnosed as mast cell tumors.  After much researching we made the decision to proceed with the chemotherapy-prednisone treatment recommended by Dr. Karen Comer, Veterinary Medical Referral Clinic of Tacoma (VMRC).

Angie completed her chemo treatments in February 2003 and the mast cell cancer is still in remission as of July 2006 as far as we know.  She is a happy and lively Boxer and we continue to enjoy her company and companionship.

We are eternally grateful to Dr. Comer and her Staff and we know we made the right
decision.  Angie did not lose her hair and she never appeared to be uncomfortable.  The
one problem we had - beside the worry of the very serious illness - was with the
prednisone - which was necessary in conjunction with the chemo - she was constantly
thirsty and hungry 24 hours a day!  She has always enjoyed food since she was a puppy
and we constantly work on diet control! We followed Dr. Comer's directions exactly, I.e.,
in the increasing and decreasing of the prednisone and it worked out very well.

As a result we feel we are very fortunate to have our beloved Angie and we are very
happy we chose to do as we did.
